The Organisation: How we work
Our core values are participatory and democratic and we are committed to ensuring socially excluded groups, defined by their exclusion from the mainstream, disaffection, lack of opportunity and socio-economic inequalities, are recognised and worked with as full and equal partners.  We also recognise that Working Together is accountable to the community, both to those that receive a service from us and the wider community that funds those services through public funds and voluntary donations.

We believe that in order to meet the needs of socially excluded groups a strategic, clearly focused approach is required that is firmly rooted in equality of opportunity and improved access to services and resources.  This will require a pro active rather than passive approach along with informed, evidence based responses.  We will seek to enable socially excluded groups to articulate their needs and, through research and evaluation of its work, will when appropriate act as an advocate to enable change and improved access to training and learning.

The long-term objective is to improve the capacity of community groups and voluntary organisations to bring about the changes needed to improve their quality of life and / or the quality of life of the communities with which they work.
